1. Information We Collect

We may collect account and contact information, submitted essays and prompts, writing samples used to create a voice profile, usage and technical information, support communications, and transaction information supplied through payment providers.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide requested features, create AI-assisted output, maintain accounts and plan limits, personalize voice-based features, secure and troubleshoot the Service, prevent fraud, communicate with users, and comply with legal obligations.

3. AI and External Providers

Relevant text and instructions may be transmitted to third-party AI providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI, depending on the feature and configuration. We aim to send only information reasonably necessary for the requested processing. Provider API and business data practices are governed by their applicable terms and policies and may change over time.

4. Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help operate the Service, including AI providers, hosting, analytics, authentication, support, and payment or merchant-of-record providers. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, prevent fraud, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Payments

Payments may be processed through Lemon Squeezy or another authorized provider. We do not intend to store raw payment-card numbers when payment processing is handled by the provider. Review the applicable provider’s terms and privacy information at checkout.

6. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Submissions may be retained temporarily for processing and troubleshooting. Saved-history features, if offered, may retain content until deletion, account closure, or the applicable retention period.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restrictions on certain processing. We may need to verify identity before completing a request. Canceling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions.

8. Children and Minors

EssayHow is not intended for children under 13 unless a compliant process is expressly provided. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child in circumstances requiring parental consent and consent was not obtained, we will take appropriate steps required by law.

9. Educational Records

FERPA can apply to education records maintained by qualifying educational institutions. Individual student use of EssayHow does not automatically make EssayHow a school official or educational institution. Separate agreements may apply to institutional partnerships.

10. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for sign-in, preferences, security, analytics, and performance. If optional advertising or cross-site tracking is introduced, we will update our disclosures and consent choices where required.

11. International Transfers and Security

EssayHow may operate from Kenya while serving users in other countries, and information may be processed in Kenya, the United States, or other locations where providers operate. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
